Phineas and Ferb of the Second Dimension

"This is the opening scene for the first 'episode' entailing the first summer for 2nd Phineas and 2nd Ferb. I actually have a lot more than just this, but I really need to finish it before I share anymore." -Casey

The sun was shining down over the Tristate area like it never had before. Maybe it was the lack of zeppelins flying through the air or the fact that all the dark purple and green buildings had been torn down or painted over with new bright colors. Either way, it was shaping up to be a beautiful summer day.
Phineas stood with his hands pressed against the sliding glass door as he looked out at his backyard. The tree across the lawn cast a shadow that made the perfect spot to relax in the shade.

“Summer is sitting with your brother in the backyard under the shade of a big tree.”

Phineas tapped his foot to the familiar tune that his inter-dimensional counterpart had sung upon his visit. He’d never been able to spend much time outside, there had been laws against that kind of thing, but the idea was sounding more and more appealing. Phineas pulled on the collar of his new yellow t-shirt with the lighter yellow stripe across it. It was such a bright color, as were the blue jean shorts and blue sneakers. He never realized there were so many colors that weren’t gray.
Phineas turned around to find his brother, Ferb, walking up behind him. He was also wearing his new “play clothes.” His consisted of a Union Jack t-shirt, blue jeans, and red sneakers. Ferb glances out at the backyard and then looked at his brother, making him clench his fists in front of him as he inhaled sharply with frustration. “I know, Ferb,” Phineas sighed. “It’s the first day of our first summer and where am I? I’m standing in the living room like I always used to do!”
Phineas crossed his arms and frowned with his eyebrows knit. He glanced back at his brother, who stood at his side silently. Phineas relaxed. “You’re right,” he said determinedly. “If we let a little uncertainty keep us from having the best day ever, then the evil Dr. Doofinsmirtz wins!”
Ferb nodded in agreement and put on his dark sunglasses before giving his brother a thumbs-up to signal that he was ready for anything. “That’s the spirit!” Phineas shouted as he swung the glass door open and ran into the yard with his brother close behind him. Phineas blinked in the light and took in a deep breath of fresh air.
For the first time in his life, Phineas had no idea what he was going to do today and that idea was overwhelming. “So, what were the things the other us’s did over the summer?” Phineas asked as he looked over the yard.
“They built a rollercoaster, became one-hit wonders, traveled through time, and traversed the entire globe in a single day. And that was just to name a few things,” Ferb replied evenly.
Phineas blinked as he thought of how ridiculous some of those notions were. After all, weren’t they a little young to circumnavigate the globe? They’d never even left Danville before.
“Why don’t we start with an ice cream cone?” Phineas asked with a smile.
Ferb, as usual, was one step ahead of him as he already pulled a package of ice cream cones out from behind his back along with a gallon of ice cream.
“Excellent!”Phineas exclaimed. “Hey, where’s Perry?” he then asked nervously. The last time their pet platypus went missing, he’d apparently been captured by an evil scientist and turned into a plat-a-borg; half robotic General of Dr. Doofinsmirtz’s robotic army.
Just then there was the sound of a rocket taking off and the boys looked up to see their pet platypus jetting off the roof of the house. The semi mechanical monotreme saw his owners upon flying over them and saluted before continuing on his way. Phineas now knew that Perry had been a secret agent, but where could he possibly be flying off to when Dr. Doofinsmirtz was locked up in prison?
