"Writing stories to go with pictures comes so easily to me sometimes. This is probably why doodling gets me out of a Writer's Block better than most other things.
Anyway, this was the result of a quick doodle I did for Father's Day and as such it's really just a quick snippet. I am quite pleased with it though, so I figured I'd post it." -Casey
The sun was finally high above them in the clear blue sky, but it was still fairly cool for a spring afternoon in Canterbury. Ciar cooed frustratedly in his dad's lap. Cian looked down to see that his son was in fact reaching for the dangling straps of his pilot's cap. He cried out to his dad with pleading eyes, practically begging for him to hand over the hat.
"I guess you can't be a pilot without your cap and goggles," Cian chuckled as he took off said cap and goggles to place them on the boy's head.
Ciar's face was completely covered from view beneath the headgear and he giggled excitedly as he lifted it up enough that he could see. He then held his hands up in the air as if he were ready to fly out of his father's arms and take to the skies.
Cian held him closer in his arms as if he was worried that the boy would actually fly away. The baby grasped the sleeve of his dad's jacket tightly and stared out at the propeller before them. Ashlyn never liked it when Cian took their son up to sit on top of the plane. He never saw what all the fuss was about. After all, they could only crash after going up into the air and Ciar need to grow accustom to planes if he was going to be a pilot one day.
A pilot. The boy was only eleven months old and Cian could already see him becoming a part of the Foreign Legion. Defeating terrible monsters, saving people from danger without a thought as to where they were from, and maybe even protecting a little brother or sister from harm one day. The whole future opened up before the man and it was all thanks to the smiling little boy in his arms.
"Thank you for my first Father's Day, Ciar," he said as the baby hummed something quietly to himself.
